After its first appearance in 2012, the International GuitarFestival Changsha China (GCC), aimed to be a top global event for guitar music, has become one of the highest-ranking guitar festivals in China. Activities during the GCC include: international guitar competition, international guitar composition competition, concerts, master classes, seminars and exhibitions, amongst others.
It is the highest-paying classical guitar competition in Asia and draws the attention of top guitar players both from home and abroad. Contestants may enter in one of the following four groups: Open, Juvenile and Children.
The goal of this Composition is to encourage composers to create more classical guitar pieces and expand the repertoire for guitar.
Guest performers are all world-renowned guitarists featuring a wide variety of unique styles.
Open master classes provide an opportunity for them to share their musical ideas through face-to-face instructions, and showcase their diversified talents of interpreting the classical music through unique performing styles.
