ONLINE INTERNATIONAL GUITAR COMPETITION
The purpose of the competition is to identify outstanding musical talents, and to provide them with performance opportunities. The jury consists of national and international musicians, scholars, and experts. The jury will seek to identify the most promising musical performers who demonstrate all around excellence in musicianship, technique and performing ability.
The 2020 Changsha International guitar competition has been changed to an online, pre-recorded video competition, which is open to competitors of any nationality. Competitors must participate in the group corresponding with their birth date.
GROUPING & REGISTRATION
The competition of all groups has preliminary and final rounds.Grouping:
(1) Open Group – No limits of age and nationalities.
(2) Youth Group – age 12-15, only for Chinese competitors, born between Jan.1, 2005 and Dec.31, 2008.
(3) Children Group A – age 9-11, only for Chinese competitors, born between Jan.1, 2009 and Dec.31, 2011.
(4) Children Group B – under 9 years old, only for Chinese competitors, born on and after Jan.1, 2012.
Note:First prize winners from any previous GCC are not eligible to compete in the same age group that they previously won.
There is no limit to the number of competitors. Competitors are allowed to register for more than one group.

1.Chinese competitors could use the Qr code below (released by the GCC committee) to login http://www.haosailei.cn, filling in the information, and uploading the competition video.
3. The jury will watch the video and judge the competitors.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
• All pieces must be performed from memory, with the exception of the required piece of the final round of open group.• The performance must be within the time restrictions (including any tuning), otherwise the competitor will be disqualified.
• The video must be unedited, in a single shot (no edits between pieces or at any time). Do not use compression or special sound effects (such as reverb, etc.).
• The program of the preliminary round cannot be repeated in the final round.
• The video format should be MP4 or AVI, less than 200MB. For other detailed recording requirements, please read the registration page.

The winner of the Open Group will have a recital tour in six cities in China, sponsored by GCC organizing committee.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
1. Open Group
• Preliminary Round (total time within 15mins)
Required piece: One piece from baroque period.
Free choice pieces: One or more pieces other than baroque period.
• Final Round
Required piece: Bagatelles with Fantasies, by Steven Goss, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, commissioned by GCC committee. This will be sent to all competitors in the open group, upon registration.
Free choice pieces: elapsed time within 25 mins (for the free choice pieces only, including any tuning and space between the free choice pieces). One or more pieces by different composers. The piece(s) played in the preliminary round cannot be repeated in this round, but the composer(s) can be repeated.
Note: No limits to age or nationality. Competitors should offer the scores (PDF) by sending email to gcc@guitar.org.cn. The previous open group winners are not eligible to enter the same group they previously won.
2. Youth Group

• Final Round
Free choice pieces: total time within 12mins, one or more pieces by different composers. The piece(s) played in the preliminary round cannot be repeated in this round, but the composer(s) can be repeated.
